Love troubles

Infatuation. Longing. Wedding. Marriage. Breakup. And then love again.

When the youth chamber choir Expecto and the Academy Chamber Choir of Uppsala get together for a concert, love isn’t just sweet and romantic. It gets storming, complicated, sad, solemn—and sometimes quite funny.

In Love troubles, we follow the winding path of love through centuries of music. From Wagner’s grandeur and the French renaissance to Nordic choral poetry, melancholy, pop, and musical wedding frenzy. The choirs come together and drift apart, blend, and are pitted against one another—just like the people in the songs.

It is beautiful. It is dramatic. There is the occasional argument. And when it all seems to be over, of course, there’s only one thing left:

To fall in love again.
